Effective Presentation Skills

1) Name 1-2 salient points you took away from the videos I didn't really see any salient points ;-; 2) How can public speaking help us as presenters? Public speaking can help the listener have a better understanding of the topic of the presentation itself and help visually demonstrate the topic to the listener. 3) What are some tips/strategies for slides/presentation software? Tips or strategies would be to include photos, diagrams, or tables to not just hand on information but to visually show it as well.

We can effectively design our own presentation by using other sources such as google slides, google docs, Prezi and etc... and by editing it to the creators liking. Depending on the topic the presentation can display an informative or/and visual view for the listener.

1) Why do you think passion is so important Passion is important because it is something that can encourage someone to pursue a goal they have whether it is long term or a short term goal. 2) How can your passion make you stand out? Passion can make you stand out because you are thriving for a goal you want to achieve and depending on that goal it would lead to a different path  3) How can your passion factor into your success? depending on your determination you can succeed in your passion but with some obstacles, you might not reach the end and it can benefit you in the future as an adult. 4) How can we use passion to understand controversy? Humorous Monologues In "The Waltz"

1) How does the structure of alternating monologues develop humor in the text?   Monologues would be considered long tedious speeches given by one but paired with alternative monologues could be paired with a humorous tone, An example would be "The Waltz" where the main character is complaining about dancing with the man, inside her thoughts. This showcases a long speech ( monologue )with a humorous tone of her complaints along the way. 2) What truths about social relationships does Parker illuminate through the use of interior and exterior monologues in “The Waltz”? The social relationship Dorothy Parker displays is a mixed emotion because her interior monologue       ( her thoughts ) are shown as negative to her dancing partner where it seems she isn't enjoying it but based on her attitude toward her partner she seems to enjoy it, only too please her partner and not make him unhappy. Assessing Your Growth Mindset

  Am I achieving a growth mindset?  I believe that in certain aspects I am achieving a growth mindset but on other aspects, I am not, for example, I am achieving a growth mindset in math but in other subjects such as social studies or Ela I might not be achieving a growth mindset and I am more leaning towards a fixed mindset. 2-3 possible majors in college. ~bussiness ~econmics ~political science 2-3 colleges I am interested in. I believe that I will start looking into colleges in my sophomore year in high school because I am still in middle school and in my opinion, it is too early to start worrying about colleges. Therefore I do not have any colleges in mind at the moment. Goals I would like to achieve. ~To not fail in any classes ~challenge myself in other subjects

Twain part 2

  How does Twain develop the character of Simon Wheeler?  He starts developing the character Simon Wheeler by describing him and going into depth on who he is before actually saying who he is. For example, "In compliance with the request of a friend of mine, who wrote me from the East, I called on good-natured, garrulous old Simon Wheeler"  Describe the effect of word choice on the story.  The effect of his choice makes the story seem more mature in a way containing more of an adult point of view and examples from the story would be " Dilapidated tavern in the ancient mining camp of Angel's, and I noticed that he was fat and bald-headed "  Compare and contrast the narrator with the other characters in the story.
